What makes it special: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) offers a remarkable blend of ancient traditions and modern wonders that captivate travelers. Most renowned for Dubai, the UAE is a land of contrasts with seven emirates, each possessing its unique character and allure. From the ultramodern architectural marvels to pristine desert landscapes and bustling souks, there's something for everyone to explore.

Weather: When planning your visit to the UAE, we recommend choosing the period between October and May. Although the weather in October might still be hot, you can expect clear blue skies and pleasant evenings. It's best to avoid the scorching summer months from June to September when temperatures regularly exceed 40°C with high humidity. July and August are the hottest months, with average maximum temperatures surpassing 50°C on the coastal plain. In contrast, average minimum temperatures in January and February range between 10 and 14°C. During the late summer months, a humid southeastern wind known as the sharqi can make the coastal region particularly uncomfortable.

Social customs: The UAE has its roots in simple pearling villages but has evolved into one of the world's most multicultural societies. The majority of the population follows the Islamic faith, and Islamic customs and laws are generally respected. Emirati women commonly wear full-body abayas in line with Islamic practices. Pork is not commonly consumed, and in the emirate of Sharjah, the sale and consumption of alcohol are prohibited. However, in most parts of the UAE, you'll find a more liberal stance on Islamic culture. Alcohol can be purchased at licensed venues, primarily inside hotels. Outside of these venues, an advance permit is required to purchase and consume alcohol. A conservative dress code is followed, and wearing revealing clothing in public is generally discouraged.
